Elevator Traction Belts

Brief Introduction

The coated steel belt for elevator is extrud- ed together with polyurethane which offers anti-corrosion function. Steel wire cords are aligned separately and parallelly. This construction improves effectively the anti-corrosion capacity and reduces the probability that the seel wire cords breaks due to internal friction .The lifespan of the coated steel belts is more than 3 times compared to the standard wire ropes .

The density of the polyurethane materials on the outer layer of the coated steel belt is about 1/7 of that of the steel wire rope .Under the permise of ensuring the traction load of the steel wire , the mass of the coated steel belt is about 20% lighter compared to the standard steel wire rope .The friction coefcient of the polyurethane material onthe outer layer of the coated steel belt and the traction sheave is about 0.5, which can effectively absorb the noisegenerated by vibration. The noise generated by the contact between the standard steel wire ropes and the drive roller and the collision between the separate ropes is usually very high.

Advantages of Steel Traction Belts

1.Life span increased by 3 times, the material is eco-friendly andrecyclable

2.No lubricating oil, reduced internal friction and noise, reducedvibration

3.Reducedmassbyabout20%,andlower energy consumption (up to30%)

4.Reducedelongation,reducednumberof times and cost ofmaintanance

5.High corrosionresistance

6.Traction sheave can be reduced to 80mm for smaller tractiondesign

As a new traction medium, the most impor- tant function of the coated steel belt for elevator is the replacement of standard steel
