Cowen Managing Director Jamie Streator to Keynote Burrill’s Inaugural Pacific Northwest Life Sciences Conference


Burrill & Company today announced that Jamie Streator, managing director of Cowen and Company’s Health Care Investment Banking Group, will keynote The Pacific Northwest Life Sciences Meeting.

Mr. Streator will speak on the public market’s views of the life sciences sector, the challenges emerging companies face, and the changing outlook for them. This inaugural year of the conference will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the Benson Hotel in Portland, Oregon.

The Pacific Northwest is home not only to life sciences’ superstars, but also many of the industry’s most promising start-ups. Increasingly, companies in this enterprising region are developing technology for use beyond just human healthcare, embracing fields such as wellness, agriculture, biomaterials, and biofuels. This meeting focuses on the state of the biotech industry in the Pacific Northwest and worldwide. Mr. Streator is a Managing Director in Cowen and Company’s Health Care Investment Banking Group focusing on life sciences companies. Prior to joining Cowen, Mr. Streator was Managing Director, Head of Health Care Investment Banking at Susquehanna Financial Group. Prior to Susquehanna, Mr. Streator was with Thomas Weisel Partners, where he founded the Health Care Investment Banking Group, and served as Partner and Co-Head of Health Care Investment Banking. Mr. Streator also served as a Managing Director and Co-Head of Health Care Investment Banking at Hambrecht & Quist (now JPMorgan). He received his Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University in 1980 with a major in History and a Masters in Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1985 with a major in Finance.
