The syphilis Antibody Test is a lateral flow immunoassay for the simultaneous detection and differentiation of syphilis antibody in human serum, plasma, or whole blood. It is intended to be used as a screening test and as an aid in the diagnosis of infection with syphilis. Any reactive specimen with the syphilis antibody test must be confirmed woth alternative testing methods such as ELISA or PCR. Relative sensitivity 100%, Relative speciticity 99.58%, accuracy 99.71%, for in vitro Diagnostic Use Only.

How fast is a rapid syphilis test?
The result should be easy to interpret and ideally, avail- able in 30 minutes. Most rapid syphilis tests are made in a dipstick or cassette format. Non-treponemal tests such as the RPR can be considered rapid tests as they can provide a result in less than 10 minutes.
