The device is used to maintain airway control during routine and
emergency anesthesia in patients with autonomic or positive
pressure ventilation and fasting.
They are also used to ensure airway difficulties beyond the direct
airway where airway difficulties are known. They are best suited
for elective surgery that does not require endotracheal intubation.
The steel wire reinforced tube reduces the risk of kinking and
obstruction of the airway tube.
