ASTM A213 includes ferritic and austenitic seamless boiler, superheater, and heat exchanger steel tubes, and grades with the letter H in their names have different requirements than similar grades without that letter, the H. These different requirements provide a higher creep rupture strength than is normally achievable with similar grades without these different requirements.

The tube sizes and thicknesses specified in this specification are typically 1/8 inch [3.2 mm] ID to 5 inch [127 mm] OD.[127 mm] with an outside diameter of 0.015 to 0.500 in. [0.4 to 12.7 mm], including minimum wall thickness or, if specified in the order, average wall thickness.
The average wall thickness of the Other diameters of tubing may be furnished, provided that such tubing meets all other requirements of this specification.
