Komatsu: the second largest forklift manufacturer in Japan, Komatsu Forklift grows under the leadership of its parent company Komatsu Co., Ltd. Komatsu, founded in 1921, is Japan's second largest factory machinery manufacturer. But it has made road construction machinery, mining and transportation equipment and heavy industrial presses all over the world. Komatsu's engineers have been developing forklifts with internal combustion engines since 1945. In the 1960s, the forklift industry was separated from its parent company, and then all models were developed and manufactured under its own management. Later, when Japanese forklift manufacturers voluntarily restricted their exports to Europe, the boss group began to produce diesel forklifts with a load capacity of 1.5 to 3 tons in the factories of Leighton Buzzard in England, including electric forklifts in the factories of 1.3 tons. The 3-ton forklift truck is produced at Steinbock plant in Moosburg, Germany. In 1994, Lancer boss went bankrupt, the trademark was sold and taken over by Germany yonghengli. In May 2000, Linde, a German forklift company, acquired a 10% stake in Komatsu Forklift. In return, Komatsu acquired the same part of OM Carelli elevatori, a subsidiary of Linde. At present, Komatsu Forklift, headquartered in Milan, Italy, is selling its products to Europe.

Komatsu's equipment exports to the United States increased significantly in the 1970s. When the United States lifted the ban on forklift imports at the insistence of Hyster, Komatsu opened its own factory near Los Angeles in 1987. In 1995, all products were moved to caventon, GA. In 2001, Komatsu began to produce BX series internal combustion forklift at Linde factory in Xiamen, China. The company has its own plant in Jining, Shandong Province, China, which produces loaders for the Chinese market.
