ASTM TP321 Seamless Stainless Tube Wear and Corrosion Resistance

Stainless Steel 321 Pipes (UNS S32100) is the basic austenitic 18/8
steel (Stainless Steel 304) stabilised by Titanium (321) or Niobium
(347) additions. Stainless Steel 321 Tubes is a stabilized
stainless steel which offers as its main advantage an excellent
resistance to intergranular corrosion following exposure to
temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range from 800
to 1500 Degree F (427 to 816 Degree C).
The addition of titanium in 321 stainless steel give some desired
characteristics:
1.Prevents harmful carbide precipitation in the heat affected zone
(HAZ) of the weld area
2.Imparts partial immunity to inter granular corrosion
3.Reduced embrittlement in the HAZ of the weld area
SS 321H Pipes (UNS S32109) is a modification of SS 321 Tubes with a
higher carbon content, to provide improved high temperature
strength. SS 321H Tubes is the higher carbon (0.04 - 0.10) version
of the alloy.
Usage:
Used in chemical, coal and petroleum industries with high corrosion
resistance to grain boundaries, outdoor machines, heat-resistant
parts of building materials and parts with difficulty in heat
treatment, such as:
1. Oil exhaust gas combustion pipeline
2. Engine exhaust pipe
3. Boiler shell, heat exchanger, heating furnace components
4. Muffler parts for diesel engines
5. Boiler pressure vessel
6. Chemical trucks
7. Expansion joints
8. Spiral welded pipe for furnace pipe and dryer
9. Aircraft
