What is a Seamless Pipe?

Alloy200 is a solution strengthened, commercially pure forging material with good mechanical properties over a wide temperature range and excellent resistance to many corrosive agents, especially hydroxides. Alloy200 is modified to control carbon (0.02 max.) so that it will not be embrittled by intergranular precipitates in many processes at temperatures from 600 ° f to 1400 ° F. Generally, the element limits of nickel200 and nickel201 are combined into a double certified chemical to obtain a single alloy nickel200 / 201 with the required alloy properties.

Alloy200 can provide corrosion resistance in reducing and neutral media and oxidizing atmosphere, provided that the oxidizing medium allows the formation of passive oxide film. The oxide film has excellent resistance in caustic environment. Corrosion rates in marine and rural environments are very low. Alloy200 is very resistant to the corrosion of distilled water and natural water.
