2. Halnn CBN Grooving Tools for Cylinder liner
Most cylinder liner are made of abrasive resistant cast iron, such
as boron cast iron, alloy cast iro, ect. All of them have hard
pots, so it will wear rapidly with tungsten carbide tools, and also
some materials can't machine with tungsten carbide inserts.
CBN tools, as one new superhard cutting tools, make it possible
process the wear resistant cast iron with high hardness and make
sure the high precision, good surface roughness and improve the
cutting efficiency.
Halnn has researched new cbn grade BN-S300 and BNK30 specific for
gray cast iron machining, both can be used for roughing and
semi-finishing process. The following is cutting parameters of
BN-S300 and BNKK30:
