The name RCA comes from the Radio Corporation of America, which
introduced the design in the 1930s. The RCA connector is an electrical connector widely used to
transmit audio and video signals.The female and male sockets of a connector are called RCA jack and
RCA plugs.It is also called RCA phono connector or phono connector.The word phono is an short name for phonograph, because this connector was originally created to allow the
connection of a phonograph turntable to a radio receiver. RCA jacks
are often used for record player input, a set of input jacks usually located on the rear panel of a preamplifier, mixer, or amplifier, especially on early radio to which a phonograph or record player turntable is attached.
Application
The RCA connector was originally used for audio signals. It has

plugs colored to distinguish them from other typical connections.
