Introduction of Tungsten Heavy Alloy
Tungsten heavy alloy is an alloy composed of tungsten as the main
raw material and other elements as auxiliary materials.
Tungsten heavy alloys are mainly divided into two series: W-Ni-Fe
(magnetic) and W-Ni-Cu (non-magnetic). Isostatic pressing molding
technology and extrusion, molding and injection molding technology
are used to produce tungsten heavy alloy products of various types
and specifications.
Properties of Tungsten Heavy Alloy
Tungsten heavy alloy has the characteristics of high melting point,
large specific gravity, strong corrosion resistance and good
thermodynamic performance, and is widely used in aerospace,
military industry, national defense, electronic industry and other
fields.
Applications of Tungsten Heavy Alloys
In addition to using tungsten heavy alloy as the main raw material
for medical radiation shielding, industrial shielding can also be
made of tungsten alloy. In addition to its strong ability to block
the penetration of radiation, the industrial shield containing
tungsten alloy has the advantages of lightness, convenience and
environmental protection. It can also improve work efficiency while
protecting the lives of industrial operators.
As the mainstream of shielding materials, tungsten heavy alloy is
also the first choice of industrial shielding materials. Although
the volume of tungsten alloy shield is 1/3 smaller than that of
lead under the same weight, the shielding effect is equivalent to
that of lead, which is helpful for geological drilling personnel to
use the shield more conveniently.

It is massively applied to balancing weight mould and high
temperature moulds. Also they can be made into protective shield
and high-energy rays. The tungsten heavy alloy conforms to ASTM B
777-99 standard.
