Purpose

Develop blood fingerprints on dark surface. Applicable to non-porous materials, not to be used on porous surface.

Specifications

Working principle

The acidic fluorescein crystal sticks to the protein in the blood to produce yellow blood fingerprint. Expose the exhibit to blue light to produce yellow fluorescence.

Method

A. Fix the prints: to prevent the acidic fluorescein crystal from damaging the ridge details, before being dyed, the blood fingerprint should be dried or fixed with blood fixative.

B. Dye the prints: saturate the exhibit with the acidic fluorescein crystal, which sticks to the protein in the blood.

C. Flush the prints: remove the dye on the background of the exhibit with a clearing agent to uncover the developed fingerprint.

D. View the fluorescence: dry the exhibit with hot air, irradiate the fingerprint with the 450nm light, view the exhibit through a barrier filter, and the fluorescent yellow fingerprint can be seen. Note: The fluorescence effect is not good when the exhibit is wet.
