NIBP module introduction

The Non-Invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP) module measures blood pressure using oscillometric methods. This monitor can be used for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients.

There are three measurement modes: manual, automatic, and continuous.

Manual: Press the NIBP button on the control panel to start NIBP measurement.

Automatic: Automatically performs NIBP measurements at preset intervals.

Continuous: NIBP measurements are taken as many times as possible within 5 minutes.

NIBP measurements do not generate waveforms. Instead, the measurements are displayed in the NIBP Parameters window as shown below.

1. NIBP Tab: Select this tab to access the NIBP setup menu.

2. The time of the last measurement.

3. NIBP unit: mmHg or kPa.

4. Quick Information Area: Displays information such as NIBP measurement mode.

5. Systolic blood pressure (SBP)

6. Average pressure value (NM)

7. Diastolic blood pressure (DN)

Operation Guides

1. Start a manual NIBP measurement

Go to the NIBP SETUP menu and select MANUAL from the INTERVAL option; Then press the NIBP button on the control panel to start manual NIBP measurement; either

To start a manual NIBP measurement between automatic NIBP measurements, press the NIBP button on the control panel.

2. Start the automatic NIBP measurement Go to the NIBP SETUP menu and select a time (e.g. 5 MIN) from the INTERVAL option. Start the automatic NIBP measurement by pressing the NIBP button on the control panel. When the measurement is complete, the system automatically performs a non-invasive blood pressure measurement according to the preset interval.

Warning

Long-term use of automated, non-invasive blood pressure measurements can lead to ischemia and neuropathy in the restricted limb. When observing patients, regularly check the color, temperature and sensation of the extremities. If you notice abnormalities, immediately put the cuff back on the patient or stop the blood pressure measurement.

3. Start continuous NIBP measurement. Select NEXT from the NIBP SETUP menu to start a continuous NIBP measurement. The monitor will continue to measure NIBP for five minutes.

4. Stop NIBP measurement During automatic, manual or continuous measurement, press the NIBP button on the control panel to stop the current measurement.
