Misunderstanding of workpiece materials for Ultrasonic Plastic
Welding:
The ultrasonic plastic welding machine has requirements on the
material of the workpiece to be welded, not all materials can be welded, some people understand that any
material can be ultrasonic welded, this is a great
misunderstanding. Some can weld well between different materials,
some can basically fuse, some do not fuse. The melting point of the
same material is the same, so it can be welded in principle, but
when the melting point of the workpiece to be welded is greater
than 350℃, it is not suitable for ultrasonic welding. Because
ultrasonic is instant to dissolve the workpiece molecules, the
judgment is based on 3 seconds, not good welding, you should choose
other welding processes, such as hot plate welding. Generally
speaking, ABS material is easy to be welded, while nylon is
difficult to be welded.
Welding parts of the process misunderstanding: ultrasonic energy is
an instantaneous explosion, welding place should be a point or
line, and the transmission distance should conform to the
ultrasonic welding mode. Some people think that as long as the
plastic material, no matter how the joint surface can be well
welded, this is also a misunderstanding.
