The SurePowerTM II Battery Pack is a rechargable, sealed lithium ion battery for use in compatible ZOLL ® defibrillator/monitors and chargers.

Using the SurePower II Battery Pack

SurePower II battery packs have built-in processing that allows the battery to communicate specific charging requirements with the SurePower ™ Charging Station or ZOLL Defibrillator / Monitor Unit. The integrated battery processing also allows you to provide the following information:

• Battery life or capacity.

• Battery calibration status.

• Low battery indication.

NOTE: ZOLL ships the SurePower II battery pack partially charged, the battery pack must be fully charged before first use.

It is important to charge a discharged SurePower II battery as soon as possible.

CAUTION Do not store a completely discharged battery as it could be damaged.

CAUTION Do not store a fully charged battery for more than 90 days.

Displaying Battery Runtime

To view the status of the SurePower II battery, press and release the display button on top of the battery (short press).

When you press and release the button on the screen, all the LEDs will flash to indicate that it is working. The battery will then turn on certain LEDs for approximately 10 seconds to indicate battery life and calibration.

Maintenance -- Testing and Inspection

As part of any regularly scheduled unit test, perform a battery check to ensure that it is fully charged and free of defects. Check the battery by pressing the battery display button.

As part of your defibrillator/monitor maintenance program, verify that the battery LEDs are working (press the display button to test the LEDs); If the LEDs don't work, please stop using the battery. Also inspect the SurePower II battery pack casing for cracks, broken contacts and plugs, or other damage; Stop using it if the battery is cracked or damaged.

1. Charge the SurePower II battery until all three runtime LEDs illuminate (approximately 1.5 hours to charge a fully discharged battery).

2. Charge the SurePower II battery until all three power LEDs light up every 4 months.
