X30WCrV9-3 W-Nr 1.2581 hot work tool steel has similar properties
to high speed tool steel. The main alloying elements in tungsten
hot work tool steels include tungsten, chromium, carbon and
vanadium. They are less deformable when air hardened and have a
higher hardening temperature than chromium hot work tool steels. If
it is preheated to working temperature before use, it can reduce
the fracture of tungsten hot work tool steel. The thermal shock
resistance and toughness of these hot work tool steels can be
improved by reducing the carbon content.
