Description:
PTFE Film is available in thicknesses from one mil up to 20 mils.
Because Fluoro-Plastics uses
the most modern skiving technology, interim thicknesses are
available. Film comes in rolls packaged
on a three-inch cardboard core or PVC core from less than one inch
wide up to 60 inches wide. Thin
film is widely used in the wire and cable industry as wrap due to
its extraordinary insulating ability.
Some specialty PTFE resins can be made into thin film with a
breakdown voltage exceeding 2000 volts
per mil. Thin film is also found in capacitors because of its
excellent dielectric properties. In addition,
thin film can be used in applications where contamination is an
issue, e.g. in many pharmaceutical and
food processing applications.
PTFE Films exhibit the following characteristics: Lowest
coefficient of friction of any known material.
PTFE operates up to 500F. Tremendous chemical resistance PTFE is an
excellent insulator Limitations:
