1. Description:

Hex flange bolts are mostly used on vehicles frames. They are used wherever hex washer head bolts are used. These bolts have teeth under their head that grip the mating surface, which helps in resisting loosening. 12-point flange bolts are used in aircraft and aftermarket automotive applications.

Flange bolts are identified by the ridge or surrounding the bolt head. This built-in washer under the head of the Bolt acts to distribute the clamping load over a greater area.
