CNPetro Petrolatum Tape
The CNPetro Petrolatum Tape is an essential product for pipeline

The CNPetro Petrolatum Tape is an anti-corrosive binding with
chemical fibers that are based materials like non-woven. This
material is coated with modified petroleum on both sides, making it
highly adhesive and elastic. It also has a high softening point,
which makes it durable and reliable when applied to pipelines.
The CNPetro Petrolatum Tape is designed to be used as an
inner-wrapping tape for pipeline coating. It also has an additional
layer of outer wrapping tape, which provides mechanical protection

The product meets NACE RP0375-2006, which makes it an ideal choice
for surfaces that aren't well prepared according to SSPC SP 2-3

Furthermore, it's not affected by water, acids, salts, or soil

no solvents.

Water Vapor Transmission: The average water vapor transmission according to ASTM E96 - 66
Procedure A is 0.006 perms.
Elongation @ Break: The average elongation at break is 10%.
Breakdown Voltage: The minimum breakdown voltage with 55% overlap is 16 kV.
Resistance to Cathodic Disbonding: The average resistance to cathodic disbonding according to ASTM
G-8 after 30 days is 180 mm2.
Resistance to Acids, Alkalies and Salts: The material shows excellent resistance to acids, alkalies, and
salts.
Maximum Service Temperature: The maximum service temperature for the material is 55°C.
Roll Widths: The material comes in rolls with widths ranging from 50 to 300 mm.

Applications:
To prepare surfaces for coating or painting, it is crucial to
remove any debris or foreign matter. This can be done by following
the guidelines set forth in SSPC SP2 “Hand Tool Cleaning” or SP3
“Power Tool Cleaning”. Alternatively, high pressure water wash of
3,000 - 7,000 psi (20.68 - 48.26 MPa) can also be effective.
After surfaces have been thoroughly cleaned, a thin film of
petroleum paste should be applied. Then, spirally wrap the tape
around the surface with a 55% overlap. While wrapping, it is
important to press out any air pockets and smooth all lap seams.
For surfaces with irregular shapes, such as valves and flanges, it
may be necessary to use a Petroleum Filler Mastic or Profiling
Mastic. Once these products have been applied, PVC Tape can be used
as an outerwrap for mechanical protection. For more information on
