The bevel gear in the automobile steering system, also known as the spiral bevel gear, is an important part of the steering system. This gear is mainly used to convert the rotational motion input by the driver through the steering wheel into the steering motion of the wheels. One of the commonly used steering systems in modern cars is the rack and pinion steering system. This system consists of a rack-and-pinion steering gear (steering gear) that is bolted to the subframe via bolts at each end of the housing. Its basic structure is a pair of intermeshing pinions and racks. When the steering shaft drives the pinion to rotate, the rack moves in a straight line, pushing or pulling the steering knuckle with the help of the tie rod, thereby turning the front wheels.

• High strength and wear resistance: Bevel gears are usually made of high-quality materials, such as high-quality high-purity alloy steel, and are carburized, quenched and ground to provide the necessary strength and wear resistance.

• High torque transmission: The bevel gear needs to be able to withstand and transmit high torque to meet the torque required when the vehicle turns.

• Maintenance requirements: In order to maintain the efficiency of the steering system and extend its service life, the bevel gear needs to be lubricated regularly. Depending on the usage, it may need to be replaced after two weeks or 100-200 hours of initial use, and every six months to one year or more during long-term use. Replace every 1000-2000 hours.
• Modular design: Some bevel gear steering gears feature a modular design, which allows them to be combined and customized for different vehicles and performance requirements.
