When Jumao weaves a wire mesh with copper wire, the copper wire is "bright" at first, but it is considered "bare." This means that the copper wire will be almost immediately susceptible to color changes due to tarnishing. Jumao cannot guarantee color consistency when it reaches the final installation point. If the desired final "bright" surface is to be maintained, a chemical or physical removal of gloss is required before cleaning the coating.
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. Changing the ratio of copper to zinc produces various brass alloys. The anti-spark properties make this wire mesh material a good choice in and around sensitive combustible areas. Brass has a bright gold appearance that is relatively resistant to fading, but slowly turns green and brown over time. Brass can be painted with a clear coat by a qualified metal finisher to darken or preserve it. As with all metals, machining brass to a specific color or feature is an art form that should be done by consulting an experienced metal finisher.
