The new S90 continues the styling design of the overseas version.
The overall front face shape looks more refined. The straight
waterfall-style grille and the through-type chrome-plated
decorative strip on the front bumper outline a calm atmosphere and
at the same time enhance the appearance of the front face. Overall
recognizability. The rear uses a full LED light source and a
taillight set with flowing water turn signals, which is more
recognizable when lit at night. There are 7 colors to choose from,
crystal white, sparkling silver gray, morning silver, star sand,
agate black, denim blue, and butterfly gray.
In terms of power, the new S90 is equipped with a high-power
version of the 2.0T engine + 48V micro-hybrid system. The maximum
power is 184kW (250 horsepower) and the peak torque is 350Nm. The
transmission part is matched with an 8-speed automatic manual
gearbox. In addition, the T8 E-drive hybrid model is equipped with
a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 2.0T mechanical + turbo
dual-supercharged engine, front and rear dual motors, an 8-speed
manual transmission and an 11.6kWh capacity battery pack.
The S90 will follow a legacy of strong sedan sales for Volvo Cars
in the United States. Over the last several years, Volvo sedans
have enjoyed significant demand at launch, with the last luxury
sedan outselling robust competitors in its segment. Volvo Cars has
seen an 18% growth in US car sales so far in 2015. The all-new 2016
XC90 has received strong demand from American drivers along with
the XC60, which has enjoyed 31% growth in US sales.
The road departure prevention system starts operating at a vehicle
speed of 65-130 km/h*. It warns of the danger of deviation based on
clearly visible lane markings. When it detects that the vehicle is
about to accidentally leave the road, it will intervene in the
steering system and provide steering assistance. Or apply the
brakes when necessary to help the vehicle stay in the lane and
reduce deviation accidents from the source.
