Key Features & Characteristics

1. Individual Pocketed Springs:

   • Independent Movement: This is the defining feature. Each spring compresses independently,

   • reacting only to the pressure directly above it. This means movement is isolated, so if one person

   • moves or gets out of bed, the disturbance is not transferred across the mattress.

   • Contouring Support: The independent action allows the springs to closely contour to the body's

   • shape, providing targeted support to different areas (hips, shoulders, etc.) and promoting proper

   • spinal alignment.

2. Spring Count:

   • This refers to the total number of springs in the mattress. Counts can range from around 500 for a

   • basic model to 2000+ for a luxury model.

   • General Rule: A higher spring count typically means the springs are smaller and can be packed

   • more densely. This allows for more precise and granular support, reducing the feeling of lying on a

   • spring unit and enhancing comfort. However, spring count is just one factor; wire gauge and temper

   • are equally important.

3. Wire Gauge (Thickness):

   • This measures the thickness of the steel wire used in the springs. It's a inverse number: a lower

   • gauge number means a thicker, firmer wire (e.g., 12-gauge is very firm). A higher gauge number

   • means a thinner, softer wire (e.g., 18-gauge is softer).
