ASTM A403 This specification covers wrought stainless steel fittings for pressure piping applications.

304L stainless steel is a basic austenitic stainless steel with good toughness and corrosion resistance, is widely used in one of the stainless steel types.

Characteristic

1.Excellent corrosion resistance: the corrosion resistance of 304L stainless steel is greatly improved compared with ordinary stainless steel, so it is easy to be used in chemical process.

2.Better low temperature strength: 304L stainless steel still has strong strength and toughness in low temperature state, so it is widely used in low temperature equipment.

3. Good mechanical properties: 304L stainless steel has high tensile strength and yield strength, and can be cold worked to improve its hardness.

4.Excellent processing performance: 304L stainless steel is easy to process, welding and cutting, and its surface finish is high.

5. No hardening after heat treatment: 304L stainless steel will not harden during heat treatment.

In short,the material of stainless steel tee has strong corrosion resistance and ductility, and can be processed to operate at high temperature and high pressure without easy rupture or deformation. This material property makes the stainless steel tee thus widely used in chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, food processing and shipbuilding industries.

2.For small diameter or thin walls, or both, where many drawing passes are required, a carbon maximum of 0.040% is necessary in grades TP304L and TP316L. Small outside diameter tubes are defined as those less than 0.500 in. [12.7 mm] in outside diameter and light wall tubes as those less than 0.049 in. [1.24 mm] in average wall thickness
