Requirement/Limits:

The information about the products must be truthful and described and presented in a way that does not mislead the consumer with regard to the nature and characteristics of the products. The information displayed on the labels of the products must:
a) Express yourself in Spanish, without prejudice to the fact that it is also expressed in other languages. When the commercial information is expressed in other languages, it must also appear in Spanish, be expressed in understandable and legible terms, in such a way that the size and type of letter allow the consumer to read it at a glance. In all cases, at least the information established in subsection 5.2.1 of this Official Mexican Standard must be indicated.
The commercial information for reading at a glance that is mentioned in the previous paragraph, must be according to paragraph 4.8 of this Official Mexican Standard.
b) Comply with the provisions of the official Mexican standards NOM-008-SCFI and NOM-030-SCFI (see references), without prejudice to the fact that they can also be expressed in other unit systems. The information that is expressed in a system of units different from the General System of Units of Measure, may appear after the latter.
c) Presented on a label fixed in such a way that it remains available until its sale or purchase under normal conditions, which must be applied in each unit or multiple or collective container.
c.1) When the form of presentation of the product to the final consumer is a multiple or collective container that does not allow to see the content, all the mandatory commercial information provided in subsection 5.2.1 of this Official Mexican Standard, must be presented in the container multiple or collective, incorporating the legend Not labeled for individual sale.
c.2) If the form of presentation of the product to the final consumer is a multiple or collective container that allows to see its content, the mandatory commercial information can appear in the multiple or collective container, or in each and every one of the pre-packed products in the individual, or, a part of the mandatory commercial information may appear in the multiple or collective container and the remaining in each and every one of the individual product packages, provided that the mandatory commercial information that appears in each one of the packaging of the products in the individual, it can be seen with the naked eye from the outside of the multiple or collective container, without the need for the latter to open.
c.3) If the multiple or collective packages are opened and the pre-packed products contained in them are extracted for the purpose of assigning them individually to a final consumer, said products must individually contain all the mandatory commercial information established by this Standard, always that are not included in any of the cases indicated in subsection 2.2 of the same NOM.
d) Be placed on the main exhibition surface, at least the following information:
i) Name or generic denomination of the product in the terms of subsection 5.2.1 a), e
ii) Declaration of quantity.
The products subject to the application of this Official Mexican Standard, must contain on their labels, at least, the following mandatory commercial information:
a) Name or generic denomination of the product, when it is not identifiable at a glance by the consumer.
A product is identifiable at a glance if it is contained in a package that allows to see its content; or, if the packaging presents the graphic of the product, as long as this graphic does not show other products not included in the package.
b) Indication of quantity in accordance with NOM-030-SCFI, on the understanding that if the content or number of pieces of a product can be identified with the naked eye, it will not be necessary to indicate the quantity declaration. In this sense, it will be irrelevant whether the declaration of quantity is indicated or not in said products and also the manner in which it is made (in a language other than Spanish, in a different place from the main exhibition surface, in a smaller size than required). , etc.), as long as said statement corresponds to the product that holds it.
In the case of multiple or collective packaging, whose content is not unidentifiable at first glance, it must show the quantity declaration (only the one corresponding to the multiple or collective container, not the one corresponding to each one of the packaging of the products in the individual), in accordance with the Official Mexican Standard NOM-030-SCFI-1993 (see references). The description of the components can appear on the information surface and must include the generic name or denomination of the products, as well as their content or net content.
c) Name, denomination or company name and fiscal domicile, including postal code, city or state of the manufacturer or responsible for the manufacture for national products or the importer. In the case of imported products, this information can be incorporated into the product in national territory, after customs clearance and before the product is marketed. This information must be provided to the Secretariat by the importer at the request of the latter. In addition, the Secretariat must provide this information to consumers who request it when there are complaints about the products.
d) The legend that identifies the country of origin of the product, for example Product of ..., Made in ..., Manufactured in ..., Produced in ..., or other analogues.
e) Risk warnings by means of legends, graphs or precautionary symbols in the case of dangerous products.
f) When the use, handling or conservation of the product requires instructions, that information must be presented. In the event that said information is found in an instruction manual or annexed operation, it must be indicated on the respective label: VEASE INSTRUCTIVE ANNEX OR OPERATING MANUAL, or other similar legends, which may be presented either in uppercase, lowercase or in a combination of both.
g) When applicable, the expiration date or preferred consumption
