High-Temperature Strength
316L stainless steel has good processing performance and can be
processed into various shapes and sizes of parts through cold and
hot processing. Its cold working performance is better than 304
stainless steel, and it can be processed through deep drawing,
stretching, bending, and other processes. It also has good thermal
processing performance and can be used for forging, casting,
welding and other processing.
Basic features:
1) Cold rolled products have good appearance gloss;
2) Due to the addition of Mo (2 ~ 3%), the corrosion resistance,
especially pitting corrosion resistance, is excellent

6) Good welding performance. All standard welding methods can be
used for welding. 316cb, 316L or 309cb stainless steel filler rods

order to obtain the best corrosion resistance, the welded section
of 316 stainless steel needs post weld annealing. If 316L stainless
steel is used, post weld annealing is not required.

Difference Between Grade 304 And 316
First, although 304 stainless steel and 316 stainless steel do not
have much difference in appearance, friends can distinguish the
difference between them from the aspect of composition. 316
stainless steel contains Mo, which makes 316 stainless steel much
better than 304 stainless steel in high temperature resistance. If
buildings need to be built in a high temperature environment, most
design engineers will choose 316 stainless steel, so as to give
better play to the stability of products.
Second, 304 stainless steel and 316 stainless steel also have
obvious differences in brand. For example, the brand of 304
stainless steel is 0Cr18Ni9, while that of 316 stainless steel is
0Cr17Ni12Mo2. When purchasing, you can obviously see the difference
between the two from the parameters, which is much simpler than the
difference from the shape.
Thirdly, the composition of 304 stainless steel and 316 stainless
steel is also different. 316 stainless steel reduces the
composition of Cr, improves the composition of Ni, and enhances its
corrosion resistance. In particular, it can be used in seawater or
chemical environment. 316 stainless steel is also higher in cost.
Generally, 316 stainless steel will be selected for the kitchen
pool during home decoration, which has stronger corrosion
resistance.
