Nozzle piston cooling, also referred to as piston cooling by nozzle
jets, is a method used in some high-performance internal combustion
engines to cool the pistons during operation. It involves spraying
a fine mist of coolant or oil onto the underside of the pistons
through dedicated nozzles. The primary purpose of nozzle piston
cooling is to manage the heat generated by the combustion process
within the engine. By spraying a coolant or oil mixture onto the
underside of the pistons, it helps to extract heat and maintain the
piston temperatures within an acceptable range.
