GDQ-2D is a geophysical well-logging method that involves placing sensors in boreholes to measure the physical properties of surrounding rocks. The recorded data of these measurements, as a function of depth, is known as a well log. Geophysical well logging has become a standard practice in petroleum exploration. Its primary objectives include identifying geological formations and formation fluids, correlating between boreholes, and evaluating the productivity of reservoir formations. Geophysical well-logging methods encompass mechanical techniques, passive and various active electrical methods (such as self-potential, resistivity, induction, induced polarization), several nuclear methods (including natural γ-ray detection and observations from induced nuclear reactions), acoustic logging, and measurements of magnetic and thermal properties.
