considered when choosing A106 steel?
1. Understand the basic information of A106 steel
First of all, before choosing A106 steel pipe, we need to
understand its basic information. A106 seamless steel pipe belongs
to carbon steel and is a commonly used low alloy steel. Its main
components are carbon, silicon, manganese and phosphorus. It has
good weldability and processing performance, as well as high
strength and corrosion resistance, and is widely used in various
industrial fields.
2. Consider the use environment and temperature requirements
When choosing A106 seamless steel pipe, we need to consider what
kind of environment it will be used in and the temperature range it
needs to withstand. Since seamless A106 carbon steel pipe has good
high temperature resistance, it is better used in high temperature
environments. But if it needs to be used in a low-temperature
environment, you may need to choose other types of steel.
3. Determine the required strength level
A106 high-temperature steel pipes are divided into three types
according to their strength grades: A, B, and C. Among them, Grade
A has the lowest strength and Grade C has the highest strength.
Therefore, the required strength level needs to be determined based
on actual needs when selecting.
1. High strength
A106 round carbon steel tube has high strength, its tensile
strength can reach more than 415MPa, and it is a medium-strength
steel. This allows it to withstand greater pressure and heavy loads

weight is required, such as building structures, mechanical
equipment and other fields.
2. Strong corrosion resistance

3. Good processing performance

The testing requirements for seamless A106 carbon steel pipes include hydrostatic testing and mechanical testing. Hydrostatic testing is performed to check whether the stress developed in the pipe wall under the test pressure is equal to 60% of the specified minimum yield strength (SMYS) at room temperature. There are different limits on the maximum pressure for different pipe diameters, for example, the maximum pressure must not exceed 2500 psi for NPS 3 and below, and the maximum pressure must not exceed 2800 psi for larger sizes. The pressure holding time is not less than 5 seconds.
