100-700t/d Flyash Pebbles （LECA) Production Process

Lightweight aggregate is the generic name of a group of aggregates having a relative density lower than normal aggregates (natural sand, gravel, and crushed stone), sometimes is referred to as low density aggregate. Depending on the source and the method of production, lightweight aggregates exhibit considerable differences in particle shape, texture and properties. Lightweight expanded clay aggregate (LECA) is among the common lightweight materials that have been applied successfully in civil engineering works.
Hengyang Industry is can also use fly ash as mainly material for making expanded LECA.
A recycled material that enhances your mix, fly ash is a fine powder that comes from coal combustion, typically resulting from power generation, and one of the most commonly-use.

Fly ash extraction: The fly ash is extracted from coal waste normally located close to the plants, thus keeping haulage costs and carbon emissions to a minimum. The fly ash pits are restored and rehabilitated to both preserve biodiversity and create new natural habitats.

Pretreatment: The fly ash goes to the production line where the mechanical treatment took place and some additives are added to the fly ash.

Rotary kiln: The kilns are heated to temperatures up to 1.150ºC and this process transforms the clay into various sized lightweight aggregates with a hard ceramic shell and a porous core. The raw material is expanded approximate 5 times during the kiln process.

Cooling: A correct cooling process is essential to ensure a high-quality product. This process is made with air.

Final product: A sustainable light weight aggregate made for housing, infrastructure or water management applications.
