First, the metal wire is cold drawn to the desired wire diameter by
specialized equipment. Then, the wire is annealed and cooled to
make black annealed wire. Next it is decontaminated. Finally, it is
immersed in an electrolyte containing zinc salts for a period of
time. A zinc layer is formed on its surface by a displacement
reaction. Compared to hot dipped galvanized iron wire, electro
galvanized iron wire has a thinner coating, but still offers good
corrosion resistance.
