H-beam is a kind of economical section with more optimized section area distribution and more reasonable strength-weight ratio. It is named because its section is the same as the English letter "H". Due to the right-angle arrangement of all parts of H-beam, h-beam has been widely used for its strong bending resistance, simple construction, cost saving and light structural weight in all directions. An economic section shaped like a capital Latin letter H, also known as universal steel beam, wide flange (edge) I-steel or parallel flange I-steel.
The cross-section of h-beam steel usually consists of a web and a flange, also known as the waist and the side. The flange of h-beam is parallel or close to the plane, flange ends are at right angles, hence the name of the parallel flange
I-steel. The web thickness of H-beam is smaller than the ordinary I-steel with the same height of the web, and the flange width is larger than the ordinary I-steel with the same height of the web, so it is also named wide flange I-steel.
Determined by the shape, the section modulus, moment of inertia and corresponding strength of H-beam are obviously superior to ordinary I-beam with the same single weight. When used in different metal structures with different requirements, it shows its superior performance no matter under bending moment, pressure load and eccentric load, and can greatly improve the bearing capacity compared with ordinary I-steel, saving 10%~ 40% of the metal.
H-beam has wide flange, thin web, many specifications and flexible use, which can save 15% ~ 20% of metal in all kinds of truss structures. Because the flange inside and outside is parallel, the edge end is a right Angle, easy to assemble and combine into various components, thus can save about 25% of the workload of welding, riveting, can greatly accelerate the construction speed of the project, shorten the construction period.

One end of the H-shaped post is fastened with bolts and connecting pieces and guardrail, and the other end is buried in the earth, which plays a supporting role in road guardrail and can effectively prevent vehicles from rushing out.
H-type post is generally used in conjunction with H-type block, U-type block, brackets, etc. It is simple in structure and easy to install. Formed by hot rolling, high strength, high hardness, at the same time the surface generally do hot galvanizing treatment, corrosion resistance, long life.
