The 2711-K4M5D is from the Panel View 400 family of operator interfaces which are manufactured by Allen Bradley. The 2711-K4M5D is a 3.5inch grayscale display with keypad inputs. It has an RS-232 port and a USB port for communication and operates on DC input. It has a 256 MB ram and a nonvolatile memory of 512 MB out of which 73 MB is free for the user. The graphics display has a resolution of 320 x 240 with a keypad. The 2711-K4M5D has various keys on the interface. It has programmable function keys from F1 to F8 which initiate the functions on the terminal display and also has numeric keys along with enter, left, right, tab and shift keys. There are navigation keys as well to navigate the cursor on the screen. The keys can be operated with gloves as well.

The 2711-K4M5D is intended to be used in a Pollution Degree 2 industrial environment. It is necessary to install cooling fans to maintain the ambient temperature of the enclosure below 55 degrees Celsius and it is recommended to use a heater where the temperature is below 0 degree Celsius. For the 2711-K4M5D the cutout dimensions are 123 millimeters in height and 156 millimeters in width. The 2711-K4M5D is 150 millimeters in height, 185 millimeters in width and 90 millimeters in depth. While installing make sure all the electrical power to the system is turned OFF and the area is clear. Follow the installation instructions as provided by the manufacturer and ensure to use the protective and safety equipment when installing. Before turning ON the system make sure the connections are secure and complete as stated in the installation manual.
