The RY type thermal fuse is equipped with a movable electrode, an
arrow and a thermal frit in
its outer shell. Spring B is installed in a compressed state, and
its elastic force can resist the
movable electrode with the help of a copper gasket to keep it in
contact with lead A. In the state
before fusing, the current is conducted through lead A, movable
electric plate, metal shell and
lead B. When the ambient temperature exceeds the operating
temperature, the heat introduced
through the leads and metal shell melts the thermal frit into
liquid. At this time, spring A and spring
B pop up and stretch. The elastic force of spring A pushes the
movable electrode to the side of spring
B, thus cutting off the contact with lead A and thus cutting off
the circuit.
