Description:

This type of machine tool utilizes a linear motion mechanism that employs the vertical reciprocating motion of the slotting tool to create keyways and holes.

Similar to planers, slotting machines also use single-edged tools (slotting tools) to cut the workpiece. However, planers have a horizontal layout, while slotting machines have a vertical layout. Slotting machines are known for their high productivity and accuracy, making them suitable for processing internal keyways or spline holes in both single and small batch production. They can also be used to create flat, square, or polygonal holes, among other shapes.
