CV-150 Video Processor Image Enhancement Automatic White Balance

Video signal output: Y/C, RGB, VBS composite, and XGA signal: simultaneous output is possible. White balance adjustment: By pressing the white balance switch on the front panel, automatic white balance can be performed. Color tone adjustment: R Control (±7steps), B Control (±7steps) Iris Mode Selection: Average normal observation, peak (when focusing on and/or observing a small bright area) Image Enhancement Setting: Fine patterns or edges in the endoscopic images can be enhanced electrically to increase the image sharpness, Either the structural enhancement or edge enhancement can be selected.

The processor has a signal processing circuit that is provided with a digital signal processor. The digital processor generates a coarse video signal that is indirectly displayable on a video screen from image signals generated by a charge coupled device sensor .An auxiliary circuit has a correction circuit that generates another coarse video signal that is directly displayable on the video screen included for the following: (a) video endoscope (b) a camera for an endoscope.

Product Overview

The Olympus CV-150 is a video processor for flexible endoscopy, offering simultaneous output on Y/C, RGB, VBS composite and XGA signals — the practical benefit being that a new processor can feed existing analogue monitors, recorders and a PC capture card at the same time without a signal converter. Front-panel white balance, red and blue colour control of ±7 steps, selectable iris mode and electronic image enhancement give the operator direct control over what the monitor shows.

Installation, Care and Quality Control

Allow airflow around the chassis and keep the rear filter clean; blocked ventilation is the usual cause of overheating on older processors. Set the output that matches your display first, then run white balance with the scope attached and the light source at working intensity. Use the correct Olympus scope generation and light source — a mismatched connector will produce a washed-out or monochrome image that is easily misread as a processor fault. Each unit is powered on and checked for video output before dispatch.
