When filtering aqueous samples using a hydrophilic PVDF syringe filter, there is no need to pre-wet the filter membrane with alcohol. This simple step can greatly simplify the laboratory analysis process and minimize the risk of contamination, which can have a significant impact on the accuracy and reliability of the results. PVDF syringe filters are also characterized by low protein binding capabilities, making them ideal for applications requiring high protein recovery such as in biochemistry research or clinical diagnostics. However, hydrophilic PVDF syringe filters should not be used for filtration of DMF, DMSO, MEK, ACETONE, most corrosive solutions or strong bases due to their limited compatibility with these substances.
