A cylindrical fastener used to join two or more elements is a
spring pin, sometimes referred to as a roll pin or tension pin.
When inserted into a hole that has already been drilled, it is
intended to exert stress similar to a spring, holding components in
place.
The spring pin normally has a cylindrical shape with a split along
its length and is composed of hardened steel. When the pin is put
into a hole, this split enables the pin to contract and expand,
ensuring a tight fit and prevents the pin from easily dislodging.
