1. Material Assessment: Select materials suitable for CNC die sinking EDM, often involving conductive materials like tool steel, carbide, or tungsten.
2. Electrode Selection: Choose the appropriate electrode material, often made of graphite or copper, and shape it to the desired geometry for the machining task.
3. Workpiece Fixturing: Securely hold the workpiece in the CNC die sinking EDM machine, ensuring proper alignment with the electrode.
4. CNC Setup: Configure the CNC machine by loading the specific CNC program, setting tool offsets, work offsets, discharge parameters, and flushing rates.
5. Die Sinking EDM Process: Activate the CNC machine to initiate electrical discharges between the electrode and the workpiece, eroding material and creating precise, complex cavities or molds as per the programmed instructions.
