317L stainless steel is a low carbon, high molybdenum austenitic stainless steel. It is a highly corrosion-resistant alloy with excellent resistance to acidic and alkaline solutions, especially in chloride environments.The low carbon content of 317L stainless steel makes it more resistant to the sensitization and subsequent intergranular corrosion that can occur in certain high-temperature applications.
