The LIFEPAK 20e defibrillator/monitor (device) is a complete acute cardiac therapy system with manual and semi-automated defibrillation procedures. The device allows the operator to deliver short bursts of high-energy electrical impulses to a patient's heart when clinically needed. Operators can pre-configure devices to reduce complexity in normal operations.

The device has four primary functions:

■ Defibrillation

– Manual or semi-automatic defibrillation (DEA).

– Synchronized cardioversion in manual mode

– Lead detection for therapeutic electrodes and ECG

■ Non-invasive stimulation

– How demand and non-demand work

■ Save patient information

– Stores patient and device data for each event

- Real-time clock provides timestamps for events

– Prints the triggered event handler

■ Patient Signal Monitor - Displays up to two waveforms simultaneously

– Displays continuous pulse oximetry (SpO2).

– Displays a continuous reading of end-tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO2).

- Continuous heart rate display

- Show time and waveform detection indicators

– Monitors ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia and sounds a warning alarm

– Continuous printing of ECG data

The LIFEPAK 20e defibrillator/monitor has seven main operating modes:

Manual Mode

-Provides normal operating capability for ALS users

AED Mode

- Provides normal operating capability for BLS users

Archive Mode

- Allows operator to print, edit or delete previous patient records Setup Mode - Allows operator to configure the instrument

Service Mode

- Allows operator to execute device diagnostic tests and calibrations

Inservice Mode

- Provides simulated waveforms for demonstration purposes Auto

Test Mode

- Provides daily automatic tests of critical circuits
