Slab continuous casting is a continuous cast steel and ironmaking technology with slab as the main product. The slabs with width to thickness ratio greater then 3 are called slabs. Continuous casting rolling slabs are mainly used for rolling flat plates (thick plate, medium plate, thin plate and coil). usually the slab size cast by continuous casting machine is: thickness is 150~250mm, width is 1000~1800mm; small slab width can be 600mm, thickness is 120mm. Slab thickness less than 100mm is called thin slab.
