A cutter suction dredger is a dredging equipment for river bed dredging, port dredging or canal construcion works. The equipment is design with front cutter head whch is driven dy motor to mix the mud or sands with water . Behind the cutter head, there is suction pipe line connected to the mud pump which is equipped in deck. The marine diesel engine driven the mud pump and delivery the mud and water mixture to shore or reclaimation area.

In order to keep the dredger boat stable and work in water, the spuds are equipped which made of two long pole steel pipes on the tail of the dredger boat in vertical . The spuds work like two legs, and they are driven by hydraulic cylinder to rooted in the river bed. Which can supplu the support force during the front cutter head boom swing to work.
