NFPA 701: 2004 & 2009 are standards for fire-retardant fabric and film material combustion test, published by the National Fire Protection Association.The standards are widely used in the United States, for public curtains and other hanging fabrics, which not water resistant fabric.

• Specified apparatus for all hanging decorative materials weighing not less than 21 oz/yd² (700 g/m²).
• Stainless steel test cabinet with glass observation panel.
