Usually, the breast wheel is the first cylinder on the paper machine and is the beginning part of the screen. One of its functions is to support the forming wire. The forming net changes direction on the breast wheel. After passing the breast wheel, the non-working surface of the forming net becomes the working surface. In many cases, the breast roller is also a dehydrating element on the screen, and the pulp from the Internet can remove part or most of the water on the breast wheel.

The breast wheel is a tube rolling structure, with sufficient rigidity and minimum deflection to prevent the copper mesh from wrinkling. In order to reduce the load on the chest wheel driven by the copper mesh, the weight of the chest wheel should be light. Generally, there is no medium-to-high chest mixing for small and medium-sized low-speed paper machines, and the chest rolling of large high-speed paper machines is slightly medium-high.
