Overview:
Higher-strength steel grades certified for use in shipbuilding
capacities.
Available in four ordinary-strength grades: A, B, D and E.
Available in 12 higher-strength grades, stocks grades AH36, DH36,
EH36 and FH36.
Used in the building of structural parts of ships, barges and
marine equipment.
Certified by the American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS).
May be certified to meet multiple specifications (such API 2H) on
Mill Test Report, but guaranteed to be certified to meet ABS
standards.

Structural steels for hulls are divided into ordinary thickness and
high-strength steels. General strength steels are divided into four
grades according to their mass: A, B, C and D;High strength steel
is divided into two strength grades and three quality grades;AH32,
DH32, EH32, AH36, DH36, EH36.
According to the standards of China Classification Society, general
strength structural steels are divided into four quality grades :A,
B, D and E (namely CCSA, CCSB, CCSC and CCSD);The high strength
structural steels as specified by China Classification Society are
divided into three strength grades and four quality grades.

Chemical composition: carbon (C) 0.18 or less manganese (Mn) 0.90 ~
1.60 aluminum (Al) 0.015 or higher silicon (Si), phosphorus (P) of
0.10 ~ 0.50 0.04 or less sulfur (S) of 0.04 or less yield strength
sigma S (MPa) 315
MATERIAL PROPERTIES
The following material properties are ASTM A131 specifications as
required by ABS and will be confirmed on the Mill Test Report.
Elongation is dependent on plate thickness, but is listed in a
range below.
