Introduction of axial flow hydro turbine

The runner of the axial flow turbine includes a runner body and blades. The fixed-blade runner blades are fixed on the runner body at a certain angle; the rotating-blade runner is provided with a set of operation and transmission mechanism for rotating the blades in the runner body. The runner body has two types: cylindrical and spherical. The number of runner blades is generally 4 to 6, and small low-head turbines also use 3 blades. The axial-flow paddle turbine has dual adjustment performance, that is, the guide vanes and runner blades can be adjusted, while the fixed-propeller type can only adjust the guide vanes. Therefore, the axial-flow rotary-paddle turbine can maintain the running stability and high efficiency of the turbine within a large range of head and load changes, which is more widely used than the fixed-paddle turbine.

About us

The axial type hydro turbine unit is one of the main hydro turbine products in our company. After more than 20 years of development since 1980s, the axial type hydro turbine unit of our company has been gradually perfected: the covering output ranges from 100kW to 50,000kW and the water head ranges from 3m to 50m. Our company’s axial type hydro turbine units are serviced all over the country and exported to Pakistan, Cuba, Turkey, Vietnam, Mexico and other countries; now, over 50 stations have been generating electricity successfully one after another, receiving a favorable response.

The company has provided 203 sets of axial type unit for 91 hydropower stations, the water head range is 3.5-38m, the maximum unit capacity is 50 MW, the runner diameter is 120cm-580cm, the rotating speed is 78.9rpm-375rpm, and the generator frame is 1.73m-8.2m.

DEC Dongfeng Electric Machinery Co., Ltd(hereinafter referred as to Dongfeng)formerly known as Sichuan Dongfeng Motor Works, was founded in 1965. As a top-secret military enterprise during the “Third-front Movement”, Dongfeng made a significant contribution to national defense development. Dongfeng was awarded abundant honorable titles, such as China's Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprise, National High-tech Enterprise, Customer Satisfied Enterprise of National Machinery Industry, Customer Satisfied Enterprise of National Product Quality & After-sales Service, China's Credible Enterprise, National Grade-one Metrology and Grade-one Safety Standardization. Dongfeng was also certified with ISO9001 quality management system, GJB Weapon Equipment Quality Management System, IATF16949 Automobile Quality Management System and HSE National Occupational Health and Safety ( Environment Management ) System, and has implemented the information system of ERP/OA/E-HR/SRM/CAPP and so on.

Dongfeng has a powerful strength of research and development , and it is one of the auxiliary research units of the national "863" program as well as the research center of high-efficiency electrical engineering technology in Sichuan province. There is a specialized R&D team in which top experts are granted allowance from the state council and senior engineers are included. Dongfeng is able to realize R&D of all series products by using sophisticated design tools such as the large-scale CAD workstation and the CATIA 3D software. The national level double-fed wind power generator test station, and the electric drive system test center can meet product quality assurance by conducting series of tests and verifications.

Dongfeng is capable of designing and manufacturing the Francis type, Kaplan type, Tubular type, Impact and Pumped Storage Hydro Generator Set with unit capacity up to 150 MW, and conventional steam turbine, TRT, gas turbine, cogeneration steam turbine generator set of unit capacity up to 60 MW , and wind turbine generator set of unit capacity from 1 MW to 3 MW, and new energy electric vehicle drive system, high-efficient motor, special motor, medium frequency motor, large and medium pump equipment, environmental protection equipment, large hydraulic metal structural parts and so on.

Dongfeng is empowered to import and export mechanical and electrical products by itself. And Dongfeng products have been successfully exported to more than 30 countries and regions including the United States, Japan, Chile, Turkey, North Korea, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Myanmar, Ethiopia and so on. More than 1,200 sets of hydroturbine generator, 1,800 sets of steam turbine generator, 5,000 sets of wind turbine generator and up to 10,000 sets of drive system are provided to customers home and abroad. With its energy efficiency level superior to the national standard level-1, the ultra-high efficient permanent magnet synchronous motor of Dongfeng has been certified by CQC China energy-saving product and listed into the promotion catalogue of "energy efficiency star" issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2017.

Dongfeng is situated in Leshan City, Sichuan Province, a famous historical and cultural city, adjacent to two World Cultural and Natural Heritage Emei Mountain and Leshan Giant Buddha. Near the mountain and by the river, Dongfeng has its own factory covering area of more than 700 acres and is blessed with its advantage of convenient transportation.
