Marine Application Anti-Corrossion 5052 Aluminum Solid Round Bar
Introduction
5052 aluminum rod possesses high plasticity and corrosion
resistance.
It can not be strengthened by heat treatment, but it has good
plasticity during semi-cold work hardening, low plasticity during
cold work hardening, good corrosion resistance, good weldability,
poor machinability, polishing .
Good corrosion resistance, good forming process, and medium
strength 5052 belongs to the Al-Mg series alloy and has a wide
range of applications. Especially the construction industry cannot
do without this alloy. It is a promising alloy. Good corrosion
resistance, excellent performance, good cold workability, and
medium strength. The main alloying element of 5052 is magnesium,
which has good forming performance, corrosion resistance and medium
strength. It is used to manufacture aircraft fuel tanks, oil pipes,
and sheet metal parts of transportation vehicles and ships, meters,
street lamp brackets and rivets, hardware products, Electric-device
housing, etc. ② AL-Mn series alloy is a kind of rust-proof aluminum
widely used.
This alloy has high strength, especially strength: plasticity and
corrosion resistance are high, and cannot be strengthened by heat
treatment. The plasticity is good when hardened by cold work. Low
plasticity when hardened, good corrosion resistance, machinability,
and polishing. Uses are mainly used for low-load parts that require
high plasticity and work well in liquid or gaseous media, such as
fuel tanks, gasoline or lubricating oil pipes, various liquid
containers and other low-load parts made by deep drawing: wire is
used for making rivet.

The annealing temperature is: 345°C.
Surface quality requirements
1. Cracks, corrosion spots and traces of nitrate are not allowed on
the surface.
2. The surface is allowed to have peeling, bubbles, surface
roughness and local mechanical damage whose depth does not exceed
8% of the nominal wall thickness of the part where the defect is
located, but the maximum depth of the defect cannot exceed 0.5mm,
and the total area of the defect does not exceed 5% of the total
area of the plate.
3. Allow the supplier to polish the profile longitudinally to a
smooth surface.
4. Other requirements: The demand side and the supplier shall draw
up by themselves.
Welding electrode model
5052 aluminum rod can be welded with ER5356 electrode, which can
meet the mechanical properties of 5052 aluminum rod after welding.
Chemical composition of 5356: Si: 0.25; Fe: 0.40; Cu: 0.10; Mn:
0.05-0.20; Mg: 4.5-5.6; Cu: 0.02--0.20; Zn: 0.10-0.20; Ti:
0.06--0.20; Al : Margin; 5336 contains higher magnesium content.
