Clevis ends are typically assembled to the end of a cylinder arm. Mounting can increase the life of pneumatic cylinders when done properly. Most cylinders should be mounted by the threaded stud ends, pivot or bolt holes provided. Mounting cylinders provides alignment with the driven mechanism, avoiding side loads that restrict the free operation of the cylinder.
