AAAC 6201-T81
AAAC 6201-T81 Applications
The bare aluminum alloy conductors type AAAC (All Aluminum Alloy
Conductor) 6201-T81 stranded classes AA and A are used for
transmission and distribution lines of electric power, when for
reasons of design of the line, a high tensile stress is needed
(even bigger that the obtained with 5005-H19) and a high ratio
mechanical stress-weight for the optimization of the sags in long
spans. These conductors are especially useful for installation in
coastal areas or of high environmental corrosion, where the ACSR
cannot be used.
AAAC 6201-T81 Specifications
The bare aluminum alloy conductors AAAC 6201-T81 manufactured by
ELECTROCABLES C.A., meets the following specifications and
standards:
- ASTM B-398: Aluminum Alloy Wires 6201-T81 for electric purposes.
- ASTM B-399: Aluminum Alloy Stranded conductors 6201-T81in concentric layers.
AAAC 6201-T81 Construction
The bare aluminum alloy conductors type AAAC 6201-T81 are
concentrically stranded, and they are built with wires of this
alloy. Their packaging is in reels in lengths according to the
client's necessities.

AMPACITY IN AMPERES:
Calculated for a conductor temperature of 75 ºC, ambient
temperature 25 ºC, emissivity of 0.5, wind of 0.61 m/sec. and with
sun effect (1033 watts/m2).
Service Performance
(1). The permissible long-time operating temperature for aerial
conductor is 70 degree.
(2). Under the circumstance that rare climate is occuring and ice
coverage rate low in heavy ice area, the biggest stress of cable at
the lowest point of the sag should not exceed 60% of the short-time
destructive power.
(3). When connecting conductors, the conductor beside the
connecting tube cant be prominent. Otherwise, the force on the
operating conductors will be unbalanced. After connectors are
install, the connecting tube should be painted by moisture-proof
varnish in order to protect it from corrosion.
(4). Under installaion, the arc downing stress of all the
conductors should be the same. With in the permissible distance of
crossing buildings or dropping to the ground, the stress can be
10-15% higher than regular stress.
